Wayne CaldwellThe Discovery Workshop model employed in the Monieson Centre's Eastern Ontario KIS project is now being used to identify rural research priorities in Southwestern Ontario.  The Identifying Rural Research Priorities through Community Engagement (RRP) project is a partnership between the University of Guelph School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, The Ontario Rural Council (TORC), and The Monieson Centre funded through the University of Guelph by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA).

This one-year project, begun in July 2009, is helping identify and prioritize research needs through meetings in eight communities across the region, in coordination with local Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs).  Results from the SW Ontario workshops, as well as those in Eastern Ontario, will be used by OMAFRA to help guide rural research funding decisions.  For more information on the RRP project, follow the links on the left.
